Avery Honored as 2017 REALTOR® of the Year
Alvin A. Avery, with Action Property Management in Grand Island, Nebraska was honored as the 2017 Nebraska REALTOR® of the Year during the Nebraska REALTORS® Association Convention and Exhibition, April 10-12. The Nebraska REALTOR® of the Year is the highest honor awarded by the Nebraska REALTORS® Association, and is given to a member who exemplifies service not only to the association, but to the community and the real estate industry at large.
For the Nebraska REALTORS® Association, Avery is a former state association president and currently serves on the following committees: Nominating, Governmental Affairs, Forms, RPAC Local Fundraising, License Law and Past Presidents’ Advisory Council. Al is a past president of the Grand Island Board of REALTORS®, has received the REALTOR® Mark of Excellence for the last several years and recently completed a six year term as Commissioner of the third congressional district on the Nebraska Real Estate Commission.
Avery was born in O’Neil, Nebraska, after living in South Dakota and several northeastern Nebraska communities, he moved to Grand Island. He and his wife, Terry, currently reside in Grand Island.Al has three children, Nathan and his wife Melissa; Eric and his wife Maran (granddaughters Brianna and Coralynn); Andrea (Robles) and her husband Benjamin (grandsons Raymond and Marco).Since 1917, the Nebraska REALTORS® Association has served as The Voice for Real Estate in Nebraska™. The purpose of this award is to select the REALTOR® who has contributed the most to the advancement of the real estate profession and to his/her community; to recognize that REALTOR® for effort and work expended in the interest of his/her Board; to demonstrate to the public the place of the REALTOR® in the community; and to call attention to the qualifications of these REALTORS® for positions of leadership in business and organizations.
